Natural gas is a gaseous fossil fuel consisting primarily of methane but including significant quantities of ethane, propane, butane, and pentane.
Prior to having our yard landscaped I installed a straight run of 2" PVC 2' deep (about 70') to an area where I would like to build a garage in the back yard. Is there a flexible gas-rated tubing that could be "snaked" into the pipe for a gas feed to the garage, that would be legal in Massachusetts? (I do have some photos of the pipe in the trench, to prove it's depth to an inspector.)

This question involves Specific Heats of two different substances. I'm not sure whether to use the Formula for Specific Heat, where you calculate the heat necessary to heat 1 gram of a substance or use the Molar Heat of Combustion (find the amount used to heat 1 Mole) to find the answer. You want to heat your home with Natural Gas, CH4. The home has a 275-Square Meter floor area and Height from floor to ceiling of 2.5 Meters. The air has a Molar Heat Capacity of 29.1 Kilojoules/Mole, degree K. The Molar mass of air is 28.9 grams/Mole. Air Density is 1.22 grams/Liter at these Temperatures. How much methane (CH4) do you have to use in order to heat the air from 15o C to 22o C in your home? Molar Heat Capacity for CH4 is 4.94 kilojoules/Mole? (this needs to be verified).

I've been feeding my puppy Solid Gold Hundchen Flocken Puppy Food for about 2.5 months. I've noticed and tolerated for a while the gas she has. Now, it just is obnoxious. My vet has pointed out that it is likely the food which is giving her gas. I'm looking for a good quality puppy food that has no wheat, no soybeans, no corn, no animal fat, no poultry fat, no by-products, no sugar added, no artificial preservatives added, no salt and no sunflower oil. She is a puggle (beagle pug mix), is nearly 6 months old and 13 pounds.

Unfortunately its fear of change will bring its quick demise. Diesel fuel costs less to produce (refine) and diesel vehicles are more fuel efficient than gasoline vehicles. That is why in Europe it is difficult to find a gasoline vehicle. Only in the past year has the US began to offer diesel passenger vehicles. Natural Gas is clean burning, inexpensive, and the US has an abundant supply of it. In Europe, natural gas powered hybrids and conversion kits have been readily available for the past 15 years. Only now is a natural gas powered vehicle available in the US and only by Honda! If the American Automobile Industry is to survive, they will need to swallow their pride and start making Diesel and Natural Gas powered passenger vehicles. People in the US are crying about "Energy Independence" and "Going Green" but they fail to look what's right in front of them!

What's wrong with my Bryant natural gas furnace ? I have a Bryant natural gas furnace, approximately 10 years old, and a programmable thermostat. My furnace runs ok most of the time. Sometimes I have to go downstairs and turn off the power to the furnace for about five minutes. After five minutes, I power the furnace back on and every is ok. I recently found that if I set the fan setting on the thermostat to manual (so it is running constantly) the system operates normally (no having to reset the furnace). I need some ideas on what is wrong. Thanks in advance for any help.

Nuclear energy is talked about as though it was the worst form of electrical generation. Well, here's was you didn't know about nuclear energy: 20 grams of uranium contains the same amount of energy as the following: - 400 kilograms of coal - 270 litres of oil - 300 cubic metres of natural gas plus... - it uses a fraction of the land area that wind power uses - it uses a fraction of the land area that solar power uses I guess nuclear power doesn't look too bad now, does it?

Discuss the cause and effects of global warming on the Bahamas then offer viable solutions Global warming, what does it mean? Global warming is often referred to as "the greenhouse effect". Both imply the absorption of energy radiated from earth's surface by carbon dioxide and other gasses in the atmosphere. Global warming threatens the whole world. Though it has had little noticeable impact on the world so far, its potential impact could be disastrous which is why global warming has become an issue ever gift in the media and for governments. There are many causes such as greenhouse effect through the burning of fossil fuels, the rise in sea level, and pollution. You have heard that for every cause, there is an effect; well, the effects for us are. Agricultural practices, climate change, and the economic consequences and the solutions are renewable energy the Bahamas need to announce target for reduction for emission There are many causes of the greenhouse effect. The most common greenhouse gas is Carbon dioxide. The Bahamas depend solely they are released by the burning of fossil fuels; which is a major leading cause of concern for the Bahamas. These emissions can be seen when you start your car on a icy early morning and the muffler smokes. Also, the more cars sit for a long period of time on the road the more CO2 is admitted into the air. It can be seen in the form of smoke in the heavily populated cities like New Providence and Grand Bahama. Many things contribute to global warming. Such things are industries, transportation, electricity used, waste produced, and agriculture. The greenhouse is very vital to our being. Without the greenhouse effect, the earth would not be warm enough for the human race to live. But if the greenhouse effect becomes stronger, it could make the earth warmer than usual. Even a little extra warming may cause problems for humans, plants, and animals to carry on everyday life. Another cause for global warming is the rise in look level; most of our islands is in 5ft of mean sea level. The Bahamas being a low-line area; it is likely that the fresh water ponds will be severally affect in some islands of the Bahamas. There are many well fields in some of the islands of the Bahamas, which will become contaminated due to the rise in sea level; this spells disaster for those islands whose water is pumped from well fields meanly Andros and Grand Bahama. Paragraph 6 of Climate Change in the Caribbean by Larry smith states that, “Indications are that some fresh water marshes in the Bahamas have already become brackish, which may be attributed to rising sea levels. And it is known that well fields on Andros and Grand Bahama have been badly affected by storm surge in the past five years. Scientist are fervently trying to find ways to counter act the effects that the rising waters are causing, which includes island and beach erosion. Evidence of the public’s ignorance of the inevitable impact of Sea Level Rising is shown in the millions of people that are flocking to the coast. Rising sea levels, winds, and currents are constantly eroding beaches, and in fact whole islands are disappearing. First, air pollution causes a great deal of health problems. Wanting clean air is a good reason because air that is polluted can damage human health. Indeed, the air pollution causes numerous diseases and increase health problems like the asthma or breathing problems; thus this is a real concern! Some persons cannot live in a big city because of the high rate of air pollution in it. However, our health is not the only to be threatened, our environment is threatened too. Indeed, the air pollution causes some disorders on the environment. Bahamians have another source of pollution; Cruise ships in the Bahamas produce enormous quantities of unwanted gases and fumes. This makes it a major contributor of pollution in the islands. For instance, a cruise boat that calls upon the Bahamas spent one day in Nassau harbour or a few days at other developed islands. “Most cruise boat uses about 300 tonnes of fuel per day at sea, and significant amounts while in harbour”. {English 119 booklet Paragraph. 7} The Bahamas is a very low- line country; the highest point being 206 ft over sea level; thus, this make this makes the Bahamas vulnerable to the effect of climate change and higher temperatures and even an increase flooding due to heavier rains; this will result in more malaria, dengue and other tropical diseases. As former Best Commission advisor John Hammerton said recently, Given that most of the Bahamas is a low-line coastal zone subject to storm surge and sea level rise, we should be anticipating the possible impacts of climate change and developing strategies to protect our habitats and landscapes based on the predications.” Climate change could also have a serve effect on natural disasters. There might be more frequent and intense hurricanes and storm

i've always wondered why nasa and other goverment funded space agencies waste billions of dollars exploring space? i mean i receive the whole sSatellitething but why do we need the ISS(international space station, not in-school suspension) wow we receive to look the effects of micro/zero-gravity on plants...whoop de do!! And the, "oh no! the worlds population is getting larger, that means no more 3 course meals and 40 acre backyards! GO TO MARS!!!!!!!" who cares jeez, look 74% of earth is water...why not live underwater? i mean it makes sense. it doesn't cost a whole lot to sink a giant ppieceof steal below water run a pump... and ok well maybe it will cost a lot but if we spent billions of dollars left the us wouldn't be in a financial crises, we could spend it reasearching better ideas like natural organic plants that grow faster to feed the hungry. or research smarter fuels like hydrogen technology instead of gas. i know this seems like a retorical question, but if you don't look the logic of this reasoning then please explain yours.

Hello there every you skeptics. I have noticed that some of you have a good understanding of science. Out of curiosity, I'd like you to tell me something. There are two premises upon which the theory of AGW is based, which when you take to their logical conclusion can only mean one thing - humans are causing global temperature change. Which one of these do you disagree with? 1) Humans release big amounts of Carbon Dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. CO2 Levels are currently approaching almost 400ppm, higher than the past 500,000 years. 2) Carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases trap long wave radiation reflected back from the earth due to their chemical and physical properties. You can look evidence of this by looking at the almost exact correlation of carbon dioxide and temperature levels as long as we can go back. p.s. Please don't go off topic and start talking about natural climate cycles or sunspots. That's not my question, and I have a very good understanding of them already. I just want to know which one of those two facts you disagree with. Sam: Apologies if I offended with my use of the word "disbelievers". Was intended to be tongue in cheek after the abuse people like myself receive on here! (Apparently, I pray to Al Gore)... Martin M: Just to let you know, I am one of those "scientists". Otherwise, I'm actually impressed with these answers. I shall definitely be looking into what is said here, though I can't promise a conversion ;) Sam: Haha, that's a good point but you've misunderstood what I mean by proof. Nothing can ever be proven beyond doubt in science, but I'm just stating the logical reasoning behind the theory in this question, it's not really a question of proving anything or not. It just seems to me that if you disagree with global warming you must disagree with one of these fundamental premises. It's deliberately simplified to try to cease certain users posting big long things about sunspots, which is really not my question (although it is interesting). Martin M: Just re-read your answer... the idea that people used to think the earth was flat is a myth, by the way. I only discovered this recently, we have every been lied to from childhood... Apologies Martin M! Too many answers I'm getting confused. I meant the answer below yours ;)

The Haber Process usually operates at temperatures between 350–450°C and pressures of between 150–300 atmospheres. Suggest why these conditions are chosen as a compromise in order to produce ammonia cheaply? Describe how temperature and pressure affect the yield of ammonia in the Haber Process. Suggest why hydrogen made from steam and natural gas is cheaper than hydrogen made by electrolysis.

I'm shaking. We checked our answering machine today and there were two calls from a lady who said she was with County kids and Youth. One was for me and one was for my husband. She said something about having trouble finding our residence! Why would CPS be coming? We live in an old home which is nice of dusty, but it's clean. every the rooms we use are heated with natural gas except the bathroom which has an electric heater. We have a 6 week old baby who is clean and very healthy. He always goes to his doctor's appointments and I have taken him a few times when I thought something was wrong (turned out nothing was). We always have formula in the fridge for supplementing and plenty of clean bottles. My son never cries for more than 2 seconds before someone picks him up and attends to his needs. We have friends over sometimes, but my husband, I, or our close pal Kelly who has 3 kids of her possess is ALWAYS with him in the nursery. We have 4 cats but they are clean, their litter boxes are in a separate part of the kitchen and no oder can ever be detected. They don't do anything to the baby except stare at him with mild interest. They have every their shots and they are indoor cats anyway. My husband works steadily and we are not on any assistance. I am off work right now because I just had the baby, but I have plans to return and I take online classes in the meantime. We never leave the baby alone except to run to the bathroom which is adjacent to the nursery. If we shower, he comes in with us in his bouncy seat where he naps. One time my cell phone was broken and I had to tell my husband something at 10 o'clock at night, so I put the sleeping baby in his stroller and ran over to my husband's work (one block away) to give him the message. I was out for maybe 5 minutes. The baby never woke up. The only thing which I can figure would be wrong with me is that I owe money on some medical bills for myself. Can CPS be called because of that? Can they actually take my son away from me? He is my whole life! I'm so scared. Can anyone give me some definite information? I don't want "I think" I want "I know!" I am in the US in Pennsylvania. And yes, my husband and I both returned the lady's calls at once but she was out of the office for the day and it's a Friday so we won't hear back from her till at least Monday. Please help! No no, some of you misunderstood! I didn't leave the baby alone in the home, I would never do that. I took him with me in the stroller. But it was 10 o'clock at night and my husband works in a restaurant so I thought maybe someone thought I shouldn't have him out that tardy or something.

Actually yes, my husband and I did have a week of fighting recently. But we're getting counseling now. And for the guy who said they will take my son - on what grounds? I mean, they have to have a reason. No one is a perfect parent. This is ridiculous. In the message the lady said it "wasn't a big deal." Should that make me feel any better?

In our home we have an oily smut-like substance that reappers every 3-4 days we dont have any appliances that use natural gas. Our home is about 500 yards from a hanger where they put huge jet engines on racks bolted to the floor and test them. The exhaust is pointed directly at our home. I know they put additives in jet fuel to keep them from exploding so much in the event of a accident. If this additive doesn't burn during a accident, it might not burn in the engine. Could this be whats building up on the surfaces of our home. counter tops ect?

Assuming that the total pressure of the gases is 1.68 atm and that their mole ratio is 94 : 4.0 : 1.5 : 0.50, calculate the partial pressure (in atmospheres) of each gas. Natural gas is a mixture of many substances, primarily CH_4, C_2H_6, C_3H_8 and C_4H_10
